“HARRY & JEANETTE WEINBERG PONO CENTER– How Can it Help Your Small Business” by Susie Thieman – Tuesday, December 4Are you in need of a training facility, conference room, office space or a commercial kitchen? Lokahi Pacific's Pono Center has it all for you. Come join Susie Thieman, Interim Executive Director of Lokahi Pacific as she discusses all the options available at the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Pono Center in Wailuku. Anyone in business or thinking of going into business should know about the Pono Center.
“INTERNET INCOME STRATEGIES” by Chris Mentzel – Tuesday, December 11
This FREE workshop will benefit both people searching for a new source of income and entrepreneurs who want to advertise their business. It starts from zero knowledge and progresses quickly. A large portion will be Q&A. Topics to be covered include, the need for internet marketing, products and services (what people pay for), product search, broad advertising (banners & emails), advertising according to needs (adwords), advertising according to demographics (Facebook), and social marketing.
Chris Mentzel has sold a million dollars of software from a laptop in Haiku back in 1997 and has been fascinated with the new possibilities of the Internet ever since. He holds a M.S in Computer Science from the University of Berlin.
“MARKETING & SALES STRATEGIES TO HELP YOUR SMALL BUSINESS” by Fred Rickert – Wednesday, December 12
Nothing happens until you sell your product or service. If you are starting a business or have a business, come learn marketing and sales strategies to improve your business. Learn ways to develop your target market, research, and find affordable ways to advertise your product or service. Understand the size of your market, pricing strategies, competitor analysis, and distribution channels. Learn approaches to personal selling your product or service. Handouts will be provided for future reference.
FRED RICKERT is currently a Senior Business Consultant with the Hawaii Small Business Development Center-Maui, a program of the University of Hawaii to assist small businesses in developing entrepreneurial skills. Prior to this position, he served in many financial and operating leadership roles both in Hawaii and the mainland in agriculture, land development, hospitality, port management, international transportation, and investment companies.
“UNDERSTANDING YOUR CREDIT AND SCORES” by Jason Hall – Thursday, December 13This is a 60 minute crash course on how to improve your credit scores. We’ll discuss how to deal with collections, tax liens, judgments, late payments, foreclosures and short sales on your credit report. Find out how this information can possibly be removed in less than 7 years to improve your scores. This workshop will be presented by Jason Hall, a Board Certified Credit Expert. He is presently a credit consultant and was previously a senior loan officer and production manager.
“DISCOVER THE SKILL TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN YOUR BUSINESS” BY Mike Kern – Tuesday, December 18Chances are you’ve never been taught it, worked on improving it, or even considered it. Right now, it’s probably preventing you from achieving every unfulfilled business dream, wealth goal, and lifestyle perk you desire. In this workshop, you will discover this “skill” which will easily enable you to achieve your goals faster, while working less.

His specialty is business finance, marketing and sales, and operations.
“CREATING HARMONY IN THE WORKPLACE” by Stan Dokmanus –Wednesday, December 19Interpersonal skills, as well as beliefs, thoughts and values, often conflict at work. This can affect your bottom line. Being able to control one’s mental state can improve personal, as well as, business outcomes. Attendees will learn mental control skills, together with a method to change limiting and painful beliefs.
Stan Dokmanus, CSAC, CCJP, Certified NLP Practitioner, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, has worked for a non-profit on Maui for six years as a substance abuse counselor. He is aware of the problems that drugs create for families and businesses. Attendees will also learn about techniques that can be solutions for the drug situation on Maui.
