Yes, that's what happened if you attended the Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club Christmas Luncheon held at Ka`anapali Beach Hotel last 20th of December. This annual luncheon, now in its 30th year, honors club members who celebrated their 90th birthdays in 2012. This year, one member, Hatsue Takatsuka, was recognized by Mayor Arakawa for reaching that milestone age. She was also presented a certificate from Senator-Elect Mazie K. Hirono (Council member G. Riki Hokama presented the certificate on her behalf)
At the end of his remarks, Mayor Arakawa jokingly made sure to put in a request to the audience, “Please tell my wife Ann, to allow me to eat whatever I want this holiday season.” The crowd burst in laughter and applause.
During lunch, the seniors were treated to some delightful Christmas songs and hula dancing by Ka`anapali Beach Hotel Employees. As well as some firefighters from the Lahaina firehouse, who got up and sang “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” and “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer."
