Description
The Lahaina Civic Center is a multipurpose sports and recreation facility located on the mountain side of Honoapiilani Highway between Kaanapali and Frontstreet Lahaina. It is a prime event location, offering a diverse facility with excellent parking near the west island resort areas.
Each November, the Civic Center is home to the EA Sports Maui Invitational hosted by Chaminade University. The NCAA-sanctioned basketball tournament drew over 25,000 guests to 12 games in 2001, with nine games televised on ESPN. Other events at the facility throughout the year include the World Youth Basketball Tournament in July, numerous concerts, community festivals, and fairs.
