Environmental Management directs and oversees the two operating divisions in the Department of Environmental Management:  
Special Committees

• Solid Waste Resource Advisory Committee
• Wastewater Community Working Group

Curbside Collection of Recyclables and Greenwaste- The 3 Can Plan

Phase 1 of the 3 Can Plan, curbside collection of recyclables and greenwaste, will begin in select neighborhoods in South Maui beginning in mid August, 2012.  Residents will use three carts: one for rubbish, one for green waste, and one for mixed recyclables. 

The Department of Environmental Management will use information gathered in Phase 1 as a planning tool to expand the 3 Can Plan to provide curbside collection of recyclables and greenwaste County-wide.
