Moloka'i Community Plan Update
The Moloka'i Community Plan Update will revise the existing 2001 Moloka'i Community Plan
adding new elements required by MCC 2.80B
while integrating policies from the Countywide Policy Plan
. The updated Moloka'i Community Plan will consist of a vision statement, goals, policies and actions to guide the desired direction of the island's future. Technical studies and issue papers provide data to support the plan’s policy recommendations. The final document will also include an implementation and monitoring plan.

The Department of Planning's Long Range Division conducted community engagement events in 2010 and 2014 to gather broad public input from the community. The Community Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) will begin its review (6 months) of the first draft Community Plan Update in March 2015. This will be followed by a review (6 months) by the Moloka'i Planning Commission
, and then review and final adoption (up to one year) of the Moloka'i Community Plan Update by the Maui County Council.
Community Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC)
The CPAC comprises 13 Moloka'i community members who are appointed by the County Council and the Mayor to review and recommend revisions to the Community Plan Update. The public is encouraged to attend the CPAC meetings.

An open house to present past community input was held on November 15, 2014 at Kaunakakai Elementary School Cafeteria.
An introductory public open house was held on June 26, 2010 at Kaunakakai Elementary School Cafeteria, followed by two public workshops held on October 2 and October 16, 2010 at Mitchell Pau'ole Center.
