The Maui County Civil Defense Agency is responsible for administering and operating the various local, state, and federal civil defense programs for the County.

This includes planning, preparing, and coordinating civil defense operations in meeting disaster situations and coordinating post-disaster recovery operations.

Hazard Mitigation Plan 
The Maui Hazard Mitigation Plan is a master plan for the County that identifies the hazards and risks posed by natural and technological disasters, identifies hazard mitigation actions and activities to reduce losses from such disasters, and establishes priorities and a long-term sustained process to implement those actions.
